Genre- RPG/Adventure
My Rating-
Perhaps the greatest game of all time, The Legend of Zelda started it all. This game was about a young adventurer named Link who found himself in a battle against a very powerful evil. This evil was Gannondorf. He had stolen the Triforce of Power and used it for his own good. Link's job was to find the eight pieces of the Triforce of Wisdom which had been hidden by Princess Zelda so that Gannon wouldn't get it. Once Link found the Triforce of Wisdom and the Master Sword, he could dstroy the evil that haunted the once peacful land of Hyrule.
So Link set out on the long, perilous journey to find the eight pieces of the Triforce of Wisdom, which Zelda had hidden in the eight dungeons in the land of Hyrule. No matter what obstacles Link had to dodge, he was one-hundred percent determined to find the Triforce and restore peace, so he set off in search of the first dungeon.
He defeated dungeon after dungeon collecting each piece of the Triforce. He picked up the White Sword and the Master Sword on the way to victory, which were vital to the completion of this quest.
After collecting the final pieces of the Triforce, he scaled Death Mountain and entered Spectacle Rock, Gannon's hideout. He went through a maze bigger than any and on the way through it, he picked up a mysterious Silver Arrow. When he entered the final room of the dungeon, he spotted and seized the Triforce of Power. Suddenly, Gannon appeared. He then made himself invisible using the power granted to him by the Triforce. He ran around the room, Link slashing his master sword around, having no luck. He finally managed to get a stab on Gannon, who reappeared. Link pulled out his Silver Arrow and shot it at Gannon, who fell to ashes in front of Link's eyes. Link continued to a secret area where he found Zelda. He had saved Hyrule.
This is definitly the best NES game ever made. Although it had very simple graphics, it was better than a lot of the games on Nintendo 64 or Playstation. Released in 1988, this game is still kicking today and has been the cause of tons of Nintendo's money.
I love this game. Of all the NES games you can buy, this is the best. It is actually like two games in one. After beating the game, it starts you on a second quest which is basically the same only harder. It was the first game of its kind. It was the first game that you could save your progress in and come back to later. Of course, the game would probably have been impossible to beat had it not have had this save feature because it is so long and hard. The game would be very difficult to beat in one day. I give this game two stars and four thumbs up!
